How much does it cost?
There are no set up fees when you join Prepay Power and when you switch you'll receive your last ever bill from your current provider.
We match the equivalent Electric Ireland standard Electricity Plan unit rate and equivalent Electric Ireland standard Electricity Plan standing charge*.
There is a PSO levy of 13.33 cent per day, this fee is charged to all residential electricity customers regardless of supplier**.
There is also a prepayment service charge of 37.5 cent per day which helps us avoid charging you any deposit, disconnection and reconnection charges. It also covers the costs of building and maintaining Ireland's 1st Prepaid electricity network.

Electricity costs can be checked at anytime on your keypad. Button 3 shows the per unit rate, and button 7 shows the total daily standing charge (Network Standing Charge, PSO Levy and PrePayPower Standing Charge).
Unit Price is the cost per kilowatt hour (kWh) used. A kilowatt hour is the unit used to measure energy use.
Standing charges are a combination of the fixed charges associated with providing electricity network services and a share of the supply costs in servicing your account.

**The Public Service Obligation (PSO) Levy for electricity has been set at the October 2013 VAT inclusive rate of €48.87 per year (13.33c per day). This applies to all domestic electricity customers, regardless of supplier. This fee is used to recoup additional costs incurred by the ESB and other suppliers and goes towards investing in Ireland’s commitment to generating a sustainable, renewable and indigenous energy supply.
Signing up to PrePayPower is subject to a 12 month contract. If broken, an early termination fee of €11.25 a month applies (based on a 30-day month at 37.5c a day), for the remainder of your contract.
The price of electricity for PrePayPower customers will increase by 1.7% from 1st January 2014.
